I did exchange the title of the vehicle for the towing charge.  However, I did check the trunk for what might be salvageable.  The new owner of the vehicle helped me get into the truck with a handy crowbar.  The truck was somewhat scratched in the process.  There was a melted toolkit that I left, but I did salvage a wrench.  What a find!

I did check to see if I had left my keys in the ignition and there they were.  However, they had partially melted and so I figured their usefulness was gone.  I also assumed I would at least need a new battery before the car would start again.
