Call attempt #577 - Day 860 - My Dad's 99th Birthday, RMS News

Today my dad turns 99. He died about 10 years ago, but he remains my dad. I remain the dad to my kids. It would be great to converse with them.

I had a good call today with Nirav. We have 5 stores going live in Kansas. That helps. We have the first of 100 going live in Alabama in about a week. A relationship is being formalized with a group out of Argentina, which could be huge. And Nirav is on the way to Texas next week to perhaps close a deal with Wayne, which is massive.

It may be that in the coming years, ShofarNexus will be used in thousands of stores around the world. It has been very hard to get here, but perhaps in several more weeks, I might become stable. If it happens, it wasn’t because of remarkable technology, but being persistent. It has been argued by many that successful businessmen are not that way because of talent, but due to persistence. Dare I suggest that this is what the call is to the follower of the Lord Jesus Christ? It is a persistence through difficulty, or tribulation (John 16:33). The word “tribulation” or “thlipsis” is defined as “a pressing, pressing together, pressure; metaphorically oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, straits”. But we are called to continue through the pressure, affliction and distress, as we rely on Him who overcame the world.

It is in the same way we are to persevere in marriage. Even when difficulties come, we have no out allowed by the Lord. We are bound until one of us is dead (Mark 10, Romans 7, etc.). We are commanded to pursue reconciliation as a higher priority than giving a gift (Matthew 5:24), but that requires both parties. I remain at the table and ready.

I love you!
