I had the joy of a serious dialog on Romans 13 with my friend Chris Prince. We did this on Sunday while many others were blindly listening to a monolog. Instead we were in dialog challenging each other from the Scripture in order to be obedient to the Scripture. It takes a lot more work than sitting in padded pews, but about a third of our dialog was during a hike at Johnston Woods, so that is better than pews.

Chris came up with the summary “Pay your taxes, Don't rebel”. We assume that it will take us some weeks to refine that concept, but it seems a great foundation. But out dialog was based on a shared foundation that the Bible is true and the Lord is sovereign. Both of those concepts are rarely stated and even when stated not applied.

There is some reference to the dreaded Panic-Demic that is turning the world stupid. I wonder about my family and those around them. Are they living in fear of this panic over what is thus far a mild flu season? Do they see the sensationalizing of what is normal to put people into fear so they will turn to the institutions for protection? Consider Rom 16:16, 1Co 16:20, 2Co 13:12, 1Pet 5:14. Is the state decreed translation “social distance one another without a holy kiss”? Maybe just stick with “hail victory”.

I love my family, sick or healthy, ignoring the Lord or seeking Him, distancing themselves from me or seeking reconciliation. Please tell my wife I love her!
