A case is made with evidence, rather than emotion, that the Bible is true, but the institutions that claim their authority from it are frauds. A serious challenge is set out for a public rational dialog on the matter. If your foundation is rock solid, it should be able to take the test. Can you?

Greetings.

Over the last many years of study I have formulated a statement “The Bible is true and the institutional church is a fraud”. I set before anyone who to whatever degree agrees that the Bible is true, a challenge to publicly engage me on the veracity or fraud of the institutional church.

Especially to those who share with me that the Bible is true, that it is God breathed, and your work or livelihood is based on the institutional church, please consider this a serious challenge. Is what you do in obedience to Christ or the tradition of men?

Using the Bible as our foundation, not the history of the institutional church, lets have a public dialog or formal debate on the statement “The Bible is true and the institutional church is a fraud”. Are you up to the challenge? If you believe what you are doing is in obedience to Christ then you should have no problem backing that up, consistent with 1st Peter 3:15. To those who fund your work or yield to your authority, you should be able to state that your work is done consistent with the Scriptures you claim.

I claim that for the elect, the bride of Christ, that there only one husband, and the relationship is direct. We are called to encourage one another and gather together, but at no time is there a command for us to institutionalize.

This is not a license for the so-called lone ranger who will decide for himself what the rules are, but for us to individually strive to maturity in obedience to Christ. To work out our own salvation, while encouraging others alone the way. We must submit to one another, but not place others in authority over us.

If you are in a congregation, then challenge the leadership. They should be able to rationally and gracefully respond. If it is simply a response based on their authority rather than the Scripture, you might consider your position.

After some dialogues on the subject I did what I called a draft presentation setting out the case that “The Bible is true and the institutional church is a fraud”. It isn’t polished, but it is done. Scripture references have been added and details can be found online. That presentation follows.

Please note that I am not offering an institution to join, requesting funds to support a ministry, or seeking followers of me, but pointing you to the Lord, the Creator who entered His creation to redeem His elect.

This makes me uncomfortable to those who are dependent on the institution as it challenges the very core of their life.

But even more to those who are striving to be obedient to the Lord, you are being challenged to place your faith and trust directly in the Lord and not an overlord in the institution. You are being challenged to be like Jacob and wrestle with God directly, not to be led by others. It is a scary road, but it is set before you by a gracious Lord.

If you are part of a congregation, love those in the congregation, not the institution. If you abandon the institution, do not abandon the people in the institution, even if the institution abandons you. You are the Lord’s freedman. The institution has no power over you when you are the Lord’s.

Also be aware of the technique where someone will, through reason or emotion, convince you that one point I make is wrong, and therefore all of the points are wrong. If indeed a point is in error, the institution is built on multiple points. It is not one error on my part that would destroy my case. Rather all points of the institution must stand or it is a fraud. If you claim the institutional church is called for in Scripture, show it in completeness. What follows is a deconstruction of the institution’s foundation. The objective is to encourage you to build your foundation on the Lord Jesus Christ.
