A moment in a video from Tehran, Iran caught my eye and a frame is below. It was a reminder, seeing kids in a water park on the other side of the world, doing what our kids did in September of 1999 in Chattanooga. I found photos of that time and of our kids on a merry-go-round, but not of the water. But I did find one of us during that trip. Do you remember the comfort level we had with each other?

An email dialog with a man who we now mutually call each other friends has expanded. He is in Utah and is a Mormon. We strongly disagree on fundamentals, but we are in dialog where each is trying to show the other what is true. It is marvelous to be able to have serious respectful dialog with someone who does not share who Christ is. It is my hope that those who do claim to share the Lord Jesus Christ will in 2019 start a serious dialog with me, specifically Jim Cross, Render Caines, and Chris Bitterman.

The fundamental reason the Lord Jesus Christ stepped into His creation was to reconcile (“apokatallassō”) His elect with Himself. This is Christianity 101. He commands brothers to reconcile in a milder form (“diallassō”) with each other. This I continue to pursue with the three gentlemen. We are four foul men and our only hope is grace. The wife is called in a stronger way (1Co7:11) to reconcile (“katallassō”) with her husband. As I have stated for years, the Lord commands it, and I ask for it. I’m still asking.
