There are comments about masks and the related issues as described in the email I sent to several today which is below. But then there is the specific about our family. As mentioned in the voicemail, George’s words from last year “I don’t like my life dad” echo through my mind. So let it be clear to all, if there is anyone who is like so many I have seen locally and know personally that are going through issues and need something as simple as a willing ear to hear, I’m here. At least give me one try.

In the Lord’s grace I have seen multiple times where someone would light up with just a bit of encouragement. Some have pressed on. Some are dead. I don’t know what is happening to my family. If there are issues like I see in others, the husband and dad’s hand is offered. It is offered now in hope.

I love my family. I love my wife! My home is your home. I will never cast you out.

I have been pondering for a long time if the current mask issue is to be responded to by a follower of Christ in the model of Daniel 3 (Nebuchadnezzar's Golden Image) or Romans 14 (Do Not Pass Judgment on One Another)? I was motivated to ask this more broadly by a video described below.

I have never worn a mask. The argument I make is to simply burp. If you wear a mask, have a smelly burp, others around you will still smell it. The virus is as small as or smaller than what gives the aroma to your burp. Consider that amplified with the rectal gas model and typically multiple layers of clothing. The best line I have heard is that it is like trying to stop mosquitos with a chain-link fence.

There are the other issues like no noticeable increase domestically or worldwide in the all-cause death count. There simply is no pandemic, but a panic-demic. People are listening to and obeying institutions that have lied to them all their lives. Some of the primary purposes are control, theft, and genocide. While there has been no great death count, that may be coming, but not from a virus.

Form me, the Daniel/Romans question might be a bit easier than for others. I am in excellent health as I typically walk a marathon weekly. I telecommute, so I have been semi-locked-down for years. I have also been emotionally toughened as I am a repeat whistleblower, ignored by numerous pastors and elders, abandoned by family, called hate speech by YouTube, stood down the police when instigated by family and the church, and an all-around nice guy.

So following in the Daniel 3 model might be easier for me, but would it have been 40 years ago? What should I expect of others? How should I encourage others?

I would seriously welcome your thoughts on this issue. This is an issue that for many of us we will face in a very serious way. We should be prepared. We should find our position based on the Scripture. We should challenge each other on our understanding to “see if these things are so”.

I don’t want to act in pride but in obedience to Christ, keeping love forefront. I have stood my ground many times, but my actions were not necessarily perfect. I want to encourage others when their trial comes, stand with them through it, offer grace to their mistakes, and celebrate with them as they see the Lord’s grace.

If you are comfortable with the masks, I contend they are just like the armbands that so many wore in some photos I have of my mom in 1930s Germany. The armband now simply covers your face. Don’t forget to hold your hand over your heart and say “hail victory”. Ecc 1:9 “That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.”
