It was a day of celebration as it was announced that James Foster Williams took his first breath. I have told people around the world that I have been smiling from ear to ear.

It has been in the news today that many heads of state, including of Germany, got together to celebrate D-Day. One irony that was pointed out was the presence of Germany. But perhaps more importantly was the absence of Russia and China. However, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin got together for a formal ceremony to note the event since their two counties lost far more lives than all other countries combined. So a major event being noted by many, but some primary players are uninvited.

Does this sound familiar? While I have been uninvited, Julia has been an exception. However, I have no confidence that I would have any freedom in Lexington as I am a leaper to so many and might be greeted again by the Davidson County Sheriff or their representatives. It doesn’t have to be this way.
