I had a delightful conversation on Deuteronomy 24 and a bit on the related Matthew 19. I defended the position that marriage begins with sex and ends with death. It was simple to do as when you do exegesis rather than eisegesis, it is clear to see. Also it is helpful to use the Bible and not the Talmud. What you read in Matthew 15:9 and Mark 7:7, the “commandments of men”, which is based on Isaiah 29:13, and mentioned in Col 2:22, was verbal at the time of Christ’s incarnation and written down a couple hundred years later and is known today as the Talmud. This is the document that has Christ burning in hell. May I suggest it is a bit inaccurate? If you base your actions on those who make their case from the Talmud, Mr. Cross, you might find that your case is weak, at minimum.

The more important point is that I do believe and am living out that marriage begins with sex and ends with death. This I am committed to, irrespective of my wife, because I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. So please, Dorothy-Jane, my lady, remember that. I am yours and yours alone for all of my days.
