Do you remember how in the 1980s and 1990s I attempted to act on Proverbs 31:8 “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Do you see that I am still trying to live that today?

Psalm 82:3 “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. 4Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

How much does the psalm apply to my own family?

When I did the video yesterday one word from 1st Timothy 1:10 stood out as I have studied it before: “enslaver”. The discussion of the subject of slavery is one that is highly distorted. Some might quote Leviticus 25:10 “proclaim liberty throughout all the land”, as seen on the Liberty Bell, but few seem to know the difference between slavery described in the Old Testament, New Testament, early US, and today. So when opportunity comes, I take it, as I did in today’s video.

It also gave me yet another opportunity to use the photo of the “slave” girl who harvests cocoa. I feel like I know her, but I don’t know her name. Perhaps I should be used to this as I know of Walter and Zadok, but probably could not tell them apart if I see them. They are just my sons, but at least I know their names.

I love you all, including Walter and Zadok. Please tell Walter, Zadok, and my wife that I love them.
