It is a joy for me that I got an email from a young Mormon lady who is attempting to defend her faith. She offered rational questions and I responded with rational answers as one who is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Why can’t PCA members do the same? They claim the Bible as their final authority. Have they ever read it? Do they know what it says?

I have heard much spoken about a phrase from Matthew 22:31, “have you not read what was said to you by God””. Sometimes it is mentioned that what you read is being said to you by God and not simply the prophets. But when I looked up “read” I found “anaginōskō” which Thayer defines as:

1) to distinguish between, to recognize, to know accurately, to acknowledge 2) to read.

If you break the Greek word into its parts it is essentially to “intensely know”. I discussed “ginōskō” in my video to my wife for her last birthday. It remains something I still want to know. But even more in attempting to intensely know the Lord I have gained an appreciation for Paul’s statement in 1Co 2:2 “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.”

There may be a door opening to meet with a group of Mormons, including their missionaries, and have a serious dialog. They might not hear what they expect as I have learned to “contend earnestly for the faith” (Jude 3) which again it does not seem like the PCA is willing to do.

While I write this there are a couple million Muslims gathering in Mecca to do the Hajj. This I have studied for some years and have grown to have a heart for these people as they are following a false god. So while my heart is for the Muslim, Mormons who also follow a false god are in dialog with me. They aren't scared to do so. What makes the PCA so scared of me? Is it found in Matthew 7?
